[KPOP] 2AM AND SNSD TOPS GAON MUSIC CHARTS
K-pop idols Girls’ Generation have claimed the No. 1 spot on Gaon’s singles chart for the third week of March with their latest single “Run Devil Run.”
According to the chart, the girls pushed two-week winner T-ara off the top with their song from their new repackaged album. They returned with a dark and edgy look to promote the new track.
2AM’s most recent song “I Did Wrong” entered the singles chart at second place and K.Will’s “Present” featuring Eun Ji-won made a phenomenal jump from the 32nd to third place.
Meanwhile, “I Did Wrong,” the newly released repackaged album by 2AM, successfully bowed in on top of the albums chart to win the title of the best-selling record from March 14 to 21.
Rounding off the top three were boy band Beast’s second mini-album “Shock of the New Era” and rapping duo Supreme Team’s first record “Supremier.”
The Gaon music chart, considered the Korean equivalent of the U.S. Billboard chart, was launched last month. Its data has been accumulated from online and offline sales statistics from the country’s major web-based providers and record distribution companies.
