[KPOP/JPOP] CHO SHIN SUNG’S NEW SINGLE DEBUTS TO #4 IN JAPAN
Six member boy band Cho Shin Sung’s new album entered Japan’s Oricon daily chart at No. 4 on the day of its release, according to the group’s agency on Thursday.
Cho Shin Sung’s single titled “Last Kiss” placed fourth on the chart Wednesday, trailing immediately behind famed singers YUI, Koda Kumi and Hamasaki Ayumi who held the top three spots, Core Contents media explained in a press release.
“We were worried at first because the song was competing with other singles from famous artists,”an associate from Core Contents Media was quoted as saying. “But we are excited to see that the single is doing great.”
The boy band also held hand shaking sessions on the day of the album’s release, meeting with some 3,000 fans in various districts throughout Tokyo.
The band had been on tour in cities including Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya last Christmas and this coming Sunday, the group will be performing with Japan’s best singers at the Ontama Carnival to be held at the Yokohama Super Arena.
The group, whose name means ‘supernova’ in English, debuted in 2007 and topped Korea’s charts with song “T.T.L (Time to Love)” last year, a collaboration with girl band T-ara. Soon after, the boy band began their activities in Japan with singles “Kimi Dake Wo Zutto”, “Hiraki”, “Superstar Reborn” and their full-length album “HANA”. Their second full-length album is set for release on March 3.
